Welcome to Bill Franklin Photography web site. My interest in photography began around 1950 when I was a member of the photography club at my Jr. High School. Then at Reagan High School I was staff photographer for the year book, and after high school, I was the staff photographer for the Baylor University year book.
After a short stint in the Army, I taught school and served in several administrative positions in the Houston Independent School District. During my 37 years there, I also served as a part time staff photographer for the district. Even though I am now retired, I still photograph a few events for them every year.
Sometime around 1970 I started a part time photography business out of my home photographing weddings, families, and some commercial. I'm still doing this on a limited basis, but my main interest now is photographing nature and wildlife. This is a whole new learning curve for me, but I am working on it almost every day.
Currently I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America, The Texas Professional Photographers Association, the Southwestern Professional Photographers Association, and involved with three photography clubs in the north Houston area. I am also the leader of the 1960 Digital Photography Special Interest Group, web site found here:http://www.1960pcug.org/SIGs_new/d_photography_sig.htm.
If you have any interest in purchasing or leasing any of my photographs, or retaining me for a photographic event please email me here
